Saucas on North Carolina Avenue

Before leaving for New York City with Ken for our anniversary, I had a lunch date with my dear sweet friend E. We had planned to make a visit to our local Sweet Green, but unfortunately the line was more than we were willing to endure. E mentioned our shared love for Mexican food, and we decided to commit to the stroll to the nearest burrito joint. But on the way we were distracted by this yellow truck with pictures of food all over it. The smell of cured meats and various sauces drifted our direction and we had to check it out. As it turned out it was a food truck that had ventured to our neighborhood instead of hanging downtown with the rest of the food truck clan.

As you might notice from the pics of me and E, we were quickly wooed by the list of flat bread sandwiches with flavors from around the world and their abundant self-serve dipping sauces.

We absolutely loved it and we were super happy with our choice as we sat on a park bench eating our wraps in the sunshine.

If you want to give it a try, check out their website: http://www.eatsauca.com/
E and I highly recommend it.

Here's to exploring the District's many food options!
