When it comes to August in the District, "recess" really is the most appropriate word. Hill Staffers and Lobbyists alike take the opportunity to play just as hard as they work. Our summer involved travel, slow mornings, and lots of time with family and friends.We kicked it all off with a trip to the Newport Beach area, and had a great time running to Balboa Island, eating legitimate Mexican food, and sunning by the beach. While it was admittedly a working vacation, we found time between Ken's meetings and my paper-writing to fall in love with the Newport Beach Area. I cannot wait to get back soon!
