Spice Delight

Spices matter. A lot. Fresh herbs and spices can do more to the flavor of the food than almost anything else. My latest shipment of spices from Penzey's came the other day, and it was love at first sight. I ordered cardamom pods, lemon pepper, caraway seeds, lemongrass, bay leaves, and 4" cinnamon sticks. The prices are far less than the grocery store, and the spices can be purchased whole (cinnamon sticks or cardamom pods) to preserve the flavor until you're ready to use them. Plus, the box was delivered right to my door. If you're looking to save a bit of money on the spices you use regularly, check out their website. They offer both ground and whole herbs and spices, and the selection is amazing.

Here's to no longer spending $8 on an ounce of a spice that's already ground,
